With the blessing of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, the church of Holy Ascension of God and the Publishing Fund of the Archbishopric of Belgrade and Karlovac organized a pilgrimage to the monastery of Jasenovac, in the Diocese of Slavonija, on September 13, 2011, on the Feast day of the Jasenovac New Martyrs.

The Divine Liturgy served by His Grace Bishop Sava of Slavonia, with priests and monks. Priests from the Archbishopric of Belgrade and Karlovac and the Diocese of Timok also served the memorial service beside the monument to the victims of Jasenovac. The pilgrims also visited the Memorial complex of Donja Gradina, and a place where once was infamous concentration camp in Stara Gradiška, a part of Jasenovac system of concentration camps.
