SERBIAN CHURCH AT CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP SEMINAR

| For the first time the International School for Holocaust Studies at Yad Vashem held a seminar for Christian Leaders, from April 9-17, 2010. Organised together with International Christian Embassy and Christian Friends of Yad Vashem, represented by Dr. Susanna Kokkonnen, seminar gathered 23 prominent Christian leaders of mainly protestant but some Roman-Catholic background as well. The Serbian Orthodox Church and its Jasenovac Committee were represented by Deacon Aleksandar Sekulić from the Office of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej. Protosingel Jovan (Ćulibrk), coordinator of Jasenovac Committee and deacon Aleksandar Sekulić were special guests at the state ceremony on the eve of Yom HaShoah on April 10. Together they were received as well by His Beatitude Patriarch of Jerusalem Teofilos III. |
